Make the carrier familiar
Leave the carrier open at home with a blanket inside. Reward investigation without closing the door, then build up to short, calm sessions.
A carrier should feel stable and well ventilated, with enough room to turn around and settle comfortably.
Keep the journey predictable
Use a familiar scent, keep the temperature even and reduce visual noise when possible. Quiet reassurance is more helpful than constant handling.
